Child Care Facilities

All children in North Carolina must be vaccinated against certain diseases. Immunization records are checked when a child enters a child care facility.

Annual Immunization Reports

Every year, all child cares are required to report the immunization status of their students. Reporting forms for child care facilities can be found here.

On-line In-Service Training Course

N.C. Childcare Immunization Course

An online in-service training module that includes voice that covers the following:

  • Background on required vaccines and the diseases they protect us from
  • Immunization laws regarding childcares
  • Common questions parents have about vaccines

The course is intended for anyone who wants to know more about immunizations in a childcare setting.  It specifically addresses immunization laws regarding childcares. 

Format:

Web-based program with voice.  You will need internet connection and speakers.

Contact Hour Credits (CHC’s):

Staff in licensed childcare facilities and homes can earn 0.5 CHC’s by:

  • Viewing the entire course
  • Scoring at least an 80% on the test at the end of the course
  • Completing an evaluation of the course
