Captivate Modules

This interactive training modules were developed in Adobe Captivate. To view these modules Adobe Flash Player version 8 or higher is required.

N.C. Immunization Law Course:

Description:

An online module that includes voice that covers the following objectives:

  • To interpret and implement immunization laws
  • To identify appropriate exemptions
  • To answer common immunization law questions

Audience:

The course is intended for anyone who wants to know more about immunization law.  It specifically addresses questions from school nurses, local health department staff, and private provider office staff. 

Format:

Web-based program with voice.

Contact hours:

Nurses can earn 0.75 contact hours by:

  • Viewing the entire course
  • Scoring at least an 80% on the test at the end of the course
  • Completing an evaluation of the course

Participants must review the entire session in order to earn contact hour credit. Verification of participation will be noted by a computer print out of participants. No influential financial relationships have been disclosed by planners or presenters which would influence the planning of this activity. If any arise, an announcement will be made at the beginning of the session. No commercial support has influenced the planning of the educational objectives and content of this event. Any commercial support will be used for events that are not CE related. There is no endorsement of any product by NCNA or ANCC associated with this session. No session relates to products governed by the Food and Drug Administration. If it did, appropriate and off-label use will be shared.

Contact hours expire: 06/30/2014
Continuing education credit will be provided through the Public Health Nursing and Professional Development (PHNPD) Unit in the Department of Health and Human Services.
PHNPD is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Preparing for a Site Visit Module:

Description:
An online module that includes voice that covers the following objectives:

  • To describe what consultants examine during site visits.
  • To identify the most common issues found during site visits.

Audience:
The course is intended for NCIP providers, including local health department staff and private provider office staff.

Format:
Web-based program with voice; Module is approximately 30 minutes in length.

Contact hours:

Nurses can earn 0.75 contact hours by:

  • Viewing the entire course.
  • Scoring at least an 80% on the test at the end of the course.
  • Completing an evaluation of the course.

PowerPoint Presentations

This series of PowerPoint presentations was designed to familiarize providers with the basic requirements of the North Carolina Immunization Program. The presentations were introduced during regional workshops in the fall of 2010. You must have Microsoft PowerPoint or the free PowerPoint Viewer external link to view the PowerPoint files.
