Reputable Links

Below is a list of state and national websites with reputable data on immunizations and health care.

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The CDC is a federal agency under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Its mission is collaborating to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. The CDC’s website is the best place to find reliable, credible information on vaccines and vaccine safety.

Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP)

The CDC’s ACIP develops written recommendations for the routine administration of vaccines to children and adults in the civilian population; recommendations include age for vaccine administration, number of doses and dosing interval, and precautions and contraindications. Visit ACIP’s website for up-to-date recommendations.

Immunization Action Coalition (IAC)

The IAC is a source of childhood, adolescent and adult immunization information for healthcare professionals.

Every Child By Two (ECBT)

ECBT was founded by Rosalynn Carter and Betty Bumpers. The goals of ECBT are to raise awareness of the critical need for timely immunizations and to foster a systematic way to immunize all of America's children by age two.

North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS)

The mission of the North Carolina Medical Society is to unite, serve, and represent physicians in order to enhance physician advocacy for their patients and improve the health of the people of North Carolina.

North Carolina Pediatric Society (NCPeds)

The North Carolina Pediatric Society and the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is one organization with two names representing over 1,200 pediatricians in the state. Pediatricians' activities range from office care of infants, children and adolescents to age 21, to research and teaching at one of the state’s five academic medical centers, to child advocacy in the private and public sectors.
